Every year, PRSA-CIEC provides a half-day of Professional Development (PD) workshops or clinics to provide members, guests and local business and non-profit organization executives with new ideas, interactive exercises and training to build and maintain strong, strategic communications.

In 2010, the PRSA-CIEC will serve as host chapter organizing and presenting the two-day Western District Conference on April 28 - 30 in Palm Springs, CA. Early bird registration including a significant cost discount ends March 1, 2010.

The 2009 Spring Publicity Clinic "Back to the Basics" was held on April 17, 2009 at the Riverside Marriott and featured:

The 2008 Fall Workshop "PR 2.0 Breaking into the Conversation" was hosted as a half-day professional development program at California Baptist University in Riverside, and featured:

The 2007 Spring Publicity Clinic attracted nearly 100 PR practitioners who gathered at the Riverside Marriott to learn about crisis communications, strategic decision-making, media relations and media training. The 2007 program presenters included:
